should i wait or buy

400 pounds to spend on a gpu so im looking at the 5700xt and rtx 2060 super or atleast in this case its still the 2060 super because prices for the 5700xt aib models are alot higher than they should be and the drivers are messed uo

 

So should i wait a couple of months to get an extra what 8-10%performance or just buy a super card for 389 pounds(gigabyte oc two fan)?

I've always followed the philosophy that if we're on the verge or a major release that it's worth the wait unless you absolutely can't. This is more of a minor thing that you'd be waiting for so I would consider going for the super card. I've heard amazing things about the cards, people generally seem to be very happy with them.

It depends, what you are using now and do you absolutely need to upgrade. I think that ray-tracing is still in testing phase. There aren't that many games that use it and it has huge impact on performance. But Navi cards are new design so they might have driver problems. So if you can run games you play at fps that you can live with I would wait a bit.

And Black Friday isn't that far a way so if you can wait there might be some discounts.

Best bang for your buck is 5700XT ,,,,, If your using a x570 mobo then I would get a 5700XT if not grab the nVidia and pay a little more but get a really great 1080p high settings and some AA card.

Will it serve my needs of 1080p 144hz on fps titles and maybe doom eternal, and play the latest triple a titles in the coming year high settings 60fps?

You will get triple digit fps and drops to double digits here and there, but you will pretty much never see 50fps or 40fps etc,,,,..... But no your FPS wont be 144fps fixed in todays AAA titles.  If you don't use AA and put settings to medium, it just depends on the game and engine.  CS:GO yes you will get 144fps sustained... But beauty of freesync is even tho your frame rate can drop from 100 to 75 it will still do its best to make a smooth experience for you and no jerky crap ya know.

ok that is fine, i play mostly single player stuff but really like having high details plus having the option for rtx doesn't hurt, but i would like to play doom eternal above 100 and other fps like overwatch i play a lot so yeah i think i may have to go for nividia purely because of the inflation of prices in the uk for amd cards thank you
