Case question

Hi. I'm building my first computer and my budget is around 400 dollars to 450 dollars. I want to get a case called the Deepcool Matrexx 55 and its 50 dollars right now. should I be spending more or less on this case? is this a good case for my first build or should i get something different? also how do I tell if cases cant fit micro atx motherboards because i read somewhere online that some mid tower cases are stupid and are not compatible with micro atx.

well, as long as it has good enough airflow for the needs, you can spend as little as you want. for a 400-450 dollar pc there shouldn't be need for a 100 dollar+ case, there's stuff you can spend your money better on

so...what exactly are you going for?

400-450 is an extreme budget build...enough of one..that Case/PSU and anything else you don't need to buy together should be picked up while on sale...possibly with Mail-in Rebates....

Location ish? Games? programs?

you could upgrade to a 8gb 570 depending on your workload/use case.

you could upgrade to a better looking/better airflow case/more fans

I'm not aware of any cases that are ATX that cannot fit mATX motherboards, so long as they're not a proprietary case like an HP, Lenovo or Dell prebuilt which sometimes use their own motherboards. ATX shares many of the same screw mounts as mATX, plus uses more PCI-E slots so I cant think of a reason it wouldnt fit.

 

The case comes with 0 fans, and even for a $450 build I'd recommend at least one fan, regardless if it's intake or exhaust.

At that budget the case is the thing I'd cheep out on the most.
