Power supply Corsair VS 650 V2

Go to solution Solved by PSUGuru,

It's a bad PSU. Group regulated (Already bad) and OCP doesn't work right. Allows the 12v rail to drop to as low as 11v before being triggered, which is bad. Overall build quality isn't great, either. I definitely wouldn't pair it with a 2070 and 8700. Id' recommend you upgrade to a Corsair CX 550 or Bitfenix Formula Gold 550/650w (Ideally the forumula gold)

It's not going to burst into flames but it's definitely crap - I'd suggest getting something better considering how expensive the components are.

That’s a bad quality psu.. I mean return it if you can and get a better unit like Corsair TXM / Rmx / be quiet pure power 11

why the choice for 8700k and not something like 3600 / 3700x? Same performance lesser price

Well, since gen 2 from amd - it’s kicking intels butt price to performance ... if you are on a budget as you say above I definitely would go amd.

Get one of the units I suggested. 550w is plenty
