I want to upgrade my 5 year old PC

Nidingr

Hello!

I'm thinking about upgrading my gaming PC. It will mostly be used for AAA-games, Apex etc. I want high graphics with good FPS in 1080p. I have a 1080p 144hz monitor, and I will also use the PC on my 4k samsung TV, but I'm not looking to play in 4k.

It's kinda hard choosing a budget because I live in another part of the world.

This is my current setup:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Processor (overcloked @ 4.4GHz)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H90 94 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3 GB  (Not installed ATM)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

I currently have RX590 Fatboy installed in my PC. I haven't bought this card yet, just testing.

I've looked at these components as upgrades:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

*Retention bracket kit for H90 cooler

I need some advice on the GPU. As I said, I have the RX590 Fatboy in my computer ATM. But maybe there's a Nvidia card that's more bang for the buck. Both my screens support FreeSync, that's basicly why I chose the RX590 card.

Should I just keep the 590 card or am I better off putting a little more money in a 2060?

Thanks in advance!

- Nidingr

if you are gonna update. scarp the 2060 series, the rx 5700 and 5700 xt are better value and cost the same.

Scrap the 2060 /2070

5700 (XT) much more bang for your buck and both can handle 1080p 144

Okey. I will probably go for the 5700 instead.

The X470 costs 240$. X570 elite version costs 295$.

The prices in Norway is a bit higher.. I did find MSI MPG X570 Gaming for 245$ tho. I'll probably go for that instead.

either one of these would be a better choice than the MSI MPG x570.
