Looking for some Input on a build.

I built my current PC in 2015,

 

  Specs: Intel Xeon 1230 v3

              Nvidia GTX 970

              16 gb ram

               2x Raid zero SSD 240gb

 

I want to move up to 1440p gaming above 60 fps. I am centering my build around the ROG Swift PG279QZ and 2x Acer V277U for triple monitor setup. 

 

I have thrown this together so far:

what you are doing wrong is 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD and a 2070 when the 2070 Super is a thing for a very minimal cost bump.

 

you really only need that much ram for gaming if you are heavy into texture pack mods and things like that, otherwise 16GB is plenty

 

a 1 TB SSD isn't worth the cost, especially since you have a hard drive with twice the capacity for game storage, keep your SSD around like 250-500 GB this will save a decent chunk of money, at least enough to bump the 2 TB to a 4 TB HDD for even more game storage.

 

how tight is your budget, the price difference on 2070 vs 2070 Super is minimal if you can find ones where people aren't price gouging (like if you go to the Nvidia website directly, they have a few partner cards in the low $500's)

 

also I don't see a motherboard in your parts list or a case, are those accounted for in your dollar total?

 

for a comparison of cost to value I just built the following for the office I work for, for about $1,520 (parts plus sales tax)

Power Color 5700XT $350 (got a deal on this because the guy at Microcenter quoted an offer they had already discontinued but they honored it since he said it)

no prices listed (with the exception of the grand total) are before sales tax, my state passed a law so online retailers charge sales tax so there is no savings for me to shop online unless the part price is just better and Microcenter was dead on or cheaper then Newegg (like 10-20 cheper on the SSD and there was a $50 savings on the Mobo because of the Microcenter CPU/Mobo combo discount) on every part except they didn't have the 3600 C16 ram so I had to get that from Newegg.

You should be fine with a 550W psu.

 

No need for 32GB of memory, 2x8GB is more than enough for a gaming rig.

 

Consider an RX5700XT instead of the RTX 2070.
