So I got a second GPU I want to run as PhysX but everytime but I haven't even been able to even get as far as both being detected at the same time. Drivers keep on deleting themselves, Windows being stuck in an infinite boot loop, and the system resetting itself whenever I just tried to enable the second card in device manager are just some issues I've had with it. It's an Nvidia card so it should be fine to make in run as a PhysX in the Nvidia control panel.

This isn't 2010 any more, there's no such thing as PhysX dedicated GPU nowadays.

Actual physix uses something like 5-10% of a modern gpu at most... and a part of it is done using cpu in the driver... using a separate video card would only slow down modern games as you'll deal with one card waiting after the other and so on...

SLI is pretty much gone, a decent amount of modern games don't even support it, no need for it nowadays. PhysX hasn't really been a big deal for a long while now, I'm afraid buying a second GPU for that type of use was just a waste of money.

Cool or whatever but how do I do it then? You know that's kind of the whole point of this post...

How about helping with it and giving us all the info on the rig? Or we can keep guessing as what the problem is.

Not sure why you need it but it's a Ryzen 3700x and a GTX 1080 Ti.

Why wouldn’t we need it? What’s the second card? Board? Windows version? Driver version?

The second is a Quadro 2000. The board is an X570 Aorus Elite and I'm using the latest version of Win 10 and 1080 ti drivers.

So you verified the second card works normally by itself and that the slot being used works all the same with either card?

Sounds like a fault somewhere if the device manager isn’t showing it correctly. Should only be loading the basic drivers unless you have windows setup to auto download and install drivers. Could always attempt a ddu and perform a clean install of the drivers.

I think it was in the Nvidia Control panel under 3d settings.. you could set the config for phys x there and select what card to use for it.. No idea if its even still a thing tho. Does that Quadro 2000 even support Physx ?

But as for why its not starting up could be the Quadro does like the modern drivers for the 1080ti.. sorry i cant be of anymore help seems like a bit of an odd thing to do but good luck in getting it working.

Already DDUd and sadly it didn't help.

I know where to find it but the issue is that I hasn't been able to get them both working at the same time.

The Quadro hardware has its own set of drivers, and doesn't run on GeForce drivers.

Pretty much sums up the issue here.
