Guess it's reading it as 2 modules and 4 cores total.

Because it's technically 2 FPU units shared between 4 cores. I imagine MS changed how it's read.

So does my pc now use 2 or 4 cores??

Your PC is using all the resources it has. Don't worry. Go read up on Pile-driver if you're interested in how the core clusters were designed and why it's being treated as a semi true core.

I had this issue on my i5 and when it said it had 2 cores my fps dropped significantly so maybe now i will have same issue?

No, because the i5 has 4 FPU units.

Bulldozer and variants were all questioned whether their marketed core count is even correct since you need two cores for them to have everything a core needs to have to be a core. I guess they still get away with it since each core has its own scheduler, but imo it's still more of a two thread per core CPU. In other words, your "quad core" is in hardware more of a dual core with 2 threads per core.

Well, core count reported by Windows is a bit vague.

Anyway, If Windows reported that it has 4 threads, you should be good to go.

Check your BIOS setting and make sure all the cores are enabled.
