Why is my keyboard a bit hot on the bottom

Rxd

So I got the ducky one 2 mini Pure white like a week and something ago but yesterday I realized that the bottom of it get's a bit warm(hot enough to realize that there is heat there but I would be able to hold my hand on the bottom probably for an hour so it's not too hot). I contacted ducky via their support e-mail but they didn't provide me with an explanation and asked for pictures, which makes no sense. Anyway I hope someone here has an idea of why this is happening. Thanks!

I guess in such a small form factor, the microcontroller may get a bit hotter. But I don't see how a normal picture could help them determine if there is an issue/what is causing it.

I guess a flyr picture or one with a temperature sensing device/sensor might help...

@Minibois I have no idea about the picture either. My concern is if it's normal because not even once I have ever heard someone anywhere(video, articles) to say that the board can get warm.

I can't say my keyboard get particularly warm or hot, but I don't have a large sample size to judge off :P

in my opinion, what type of microcontrollers the manufacturer uses should not get hit at all, unless something weird is going on (e.g. running wires to the wrong place).

but since sense of temperature is very subjective, it's very hard to say if it's actually hot.

is there any place it particularly gets hot? If it did get hot, I would expect it to be warmer towards the spacebar, as seeing the main chips are located there:

(Keyboard pcb picture is included at the end of this article).

But this would all be speculation, which is hard to say for sure what is going on.

@Minibois Exactly around the spacebar is where I can feel the heat.

Seems like all the components that do the work are located there ... I am not an electrical guy, so really can't provide any further insights to you.

From what I have read, there seems to be somewhat of a general consensus that microcontrollers should not get more hot than 'touch temperature'.

That basically means 'if you can hold your thumb on the heat for a significant time, it's fine'.

That still doesn't excuse the heat, but j don't have experience with this Ducky board to say if it's normal.

If at all possible, ask them what kind of temperatures are deemed normal and if this is a consistent occurrence with this board (do all boards have this, or only yours).

@Minibois I would be probably able to hold my hand on the board for an hour. It's just enough to feel it, also I can't feel it like on top, only if I touch the bottom. About the support, I didn't receive anything after I asked what pictures(again no clue why they need them) they want so I will just another ticket again just in case. But thanks for all the info.

If they do tell you what is causing this, why or if it's normal, please do keep me posted. I am actually very curious now what they think of it and if it's normal :P

The only two things I can think of with the pictures is that they may be a bit stumped to and the first thing they are looking at is did you get stuck with a knockoff from a bad seller or it is just part of there process and they are fallowing it step by step.
