I personally prefer cleaner, more minimalistic cases, so while it's not the case for me, I think it'll be a really great case for somebody who's got an eye for the more involved looking cases. The full windowed side-panel is rather striking, I must say. As it's the same chassis as the 750D, on the inside it should be the same flexible beast that we know the 750D to be.

That's the same comments I see with the 760T, aggressive looks with the interior of the 750D!

I can see where you are coming from, a huge windowed side panel with a random floating (assumingly) plastic handle

I do too as well, but at the same time like having something to look at. I feel like this case isnt trying too hard to be flashy but have its key features.

I just feel like... You spend that much time designing the case with a FULL windowed panel, then you put a bigass handle in it :/

Surely they could of done something like the 900D's panels, where there's a button in the back

I never personally seen or researched the 900D, but it does sound like a better idea than the handle. But I do like the Hinge idea though.

For me the hinge idea could go two ways: either it'll be all the rage and become 'the feature to have' on your PC case. Or it'll just cause the side panel to get in the way, which I can imagine it doing for me. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Either way though, it looks like it'll be a great case.

There's a locking mechanism in the top of the 900d, and the panel has little "nubs" that go into it, when pushed upon it locks into place.

There's a button in the back, you just simply push it and it opens the sidepanel and you just pick it up and set it somewhere else.

I think they could of done the same thing with the hinge, by making a lock on the front side of the case with a button in the rear, or underneathe, that unlocks the hinge

Considering its not in the Obsidian line-up, I'd wager this may be a less expensive case than perhaps the 750D, so it's possible that including a feature like this would have increased manufacturing costs.

I suppose, I was thinking a lock here:   With a button on either the bottom, or maybe the top if there isn't room in the bottom

Pricing right now is $179 and $149 for the 750D

  • 4 weeks later...

I for one am going to buy one to replace my antec 302. I feel from an enthusiast point that a window that size is just what is needed. Also. As far as the handle goes... I dont feel it will be a huge issue for the black and red version of the case. plus you figure it would have to be a fair size to give stability to the door itself with no steel border.

I am going to dress it up maybe change the red color scheme to something more my taste. Just screams you worked hard for that rig now show it off a bit and be proud of it :). I was origionally going to go for a stormtrooper but the idea of switching to water cooling with a case that isn't monstrous but big enough to put in a dual rad setup wile still making it look good. Seems appealing to me.

Does leave some thoughts to how well the heat dispersion will work with the top cover on. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I was looking at this case for my next build - then I noticed the 730T in Linus' videos. Same shape, just black and no window. Winner for me. Plus rumored to be cheaper. I'll be coming from a 330R that I love (will be selling the current system once the next i7/GTX 8/etc comes out to build a powerhouse WC'd system!).

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

I think the case looks very solid, a nice and simple step up from the 600T.

Personally I really like the design, but I feel with all corsair cases (besides 800/900d), there's a quirk that makes me not like it. In this case, the handle, as @Lays pointed out.

I'd buy it though. At least it's not as terrible as the C70's fan grills or 600t's usb passthrough. *shudders*
