Does my build match my use case?

habaden

Hey guys, i'm trying to figure everything out for my next build and wanted to make sure everything i'm purchasing is the right fit for me. I want to run games at 3440x1440p 60fps max settings and do 4k video editing on the side.

I have two cpu coolers listed as i'm not sure if I want to RGB everything or not.

Let me know if I should change anything!

with that case, the rgb is almost a must

perhaps the noctua wouldnt fit well for the lack of rgb and the color of the cpu fan

i am not a fan of seagate, i do prefer hitachi(hgst), toshiba and western digital

for video editong perhaps you should also add some 1tb ssds to have a better performance when reading the project files, even another ssd, i assume the 970 will be boot drive correct?

Other than the fact you only have 250GB of SSD (go for 1TB if you're video editing AND games), it's good.

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux

i think it is a windows boot drive only, but definitively i would add more ssds to the build for those reasons

Yeah I didn't include it on the part picker but i'm bringing over a couple SSDs from my old build to use for games and media, the 4tb is for mass storage.

The D15 won't fit anyway so that decides it for you ? Cooler height limit is 155mm and the D15 is 165mm.

I would swap out the psu as well. A Corsair RMi would be my suggestion, or look through the psu tier list.

I would go with 3000 - 3200 Ram and get 2 x 16GB instead. You can overclock it anyway.
