What connector is this?

I have a set of cheap drums that my mum bought for me ages ago and I want to make some music with them un audacity but the connector looks like the pic attached, what is it called? Thanks

That is a USB type B connector.

That is indeed a USB 2.0 type B connector.

I am fairly sure that it is literally just USB 2.0 type A's connections but arranged differently - cables converting between the two are cheap and can become long without issue. USB hubs in monitors also often use the usb type B as input. :)

Also printers, enough that I've seen these specifically marketed as a "printer cable".

Knowing about this connector completely depends on what kind of stuff you've worked it. To be honest, the only reason I really know how usb type B works is because I boughts cables for it for my monitor usb hub, otherwise I would've never had to use it. And old printers obviously used the massive parallel printer port. :D 

 

There is also USB Mini-B, which is randomly used on some devices (keyboard, graphical calculator, Garmin gps device), accompanied by this weird other thing that is apparently called Mini-A, and sometimes interchangable with Mini-B. Logic exists.
