It does remove the ugly lines within games, makes textures and everything smoother.

AA typically makes things more smooth by masking up jaggies by rendering the textures in higher resolutions and then downsampling it.

that may be another form, because there seem to be multiple AA techniques. It may also introduce a small latency, so leaving it off in multiplayer is typically best.

from what I understand, I think.

I believe it re renders objects very quickly to make surfaces and lines appear smooth.

It's very taxing on your gpu, best to run it at it's lowest possible setting or not at all.

It removes jagged corners in image, but keep in mind it makes image blur. So you sacrifice sharp to remove jagged corners. A lot people like it, but I prefer play without AA, I don't like blurry image. Here's example:

I believe it re renders objects very quickly to make surfaces and lines appear smooth.

those are specific implementations, AA in general is something that makes lines smoother and it can be done in different ways (as suggested in the quoted posts), more or less demanding, more or less beautiful-looking

@Jogostar @nokturrduk84 I like how the pictures you guys included are well and indeed displaying the differences in having anti-aliasing turned on and off but hahahah the Stair cases look continues... since my eyes are appealed to running aa on games but I don't cause I'm still a laptop person so no aa for my games since the fps is soo bad anyway :3

Here's a very good gif that shows what you might expect in game:

Thought this post was about alcoholics anonymous...

But yeah, anti aliasing is pretty great. Removes jagged lines and such. Wish it was better optimised though.

Compatible with Windows 95
