Best budget air cooler for i5 9400

Stevers108

Hi all!

I'm building a budget build for my friend and I was originally going to water cool his i5 9400, but he opted for air cooling. Since he's on a budget, I'm trying to figure out the best CPU cooler for a budget build! The case I'm using is a NZXT h500. I was originally going to go with a Noctua Air Cooler, but when I put in a Noctua NH-U14S in the same case during a different build, it BARELY fit. So I'm trying to avoid it due to space.

Here are the ones I was looking at:

Thanks guys!

Cheers

If the noise of the stock cooler is not appreciated, the Hyper 212 black edition is plenty good.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You don't need more than Cryorig M9i, if that's available for you.
