XFX Radeon RX 580 Black Crashing

Dinner_bone

So I have been experiencing this issue for a while, searching the internet like a madman, but I can't find a solution. I have an XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition, and it crashes in ONLY games, not benchmarks, games, the only way it will run in all games is with a 15% underclock. Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 200GE (Stock Cooler)

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition

MOBO:Asus Prime B350m-a

PSU:600w Bronze EVGA

RAM:8gb Corsair Vengance

Ah ok, well it might be your processor, as it’s not entirely suited to handling that kinda GPU.

I was having that issue with my RX580, pretty sure that means it's a dying card.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

A CPU bottleneck shouldn't cause a complete shutdown (I have to turn of the power supply to restart)

Is there a solution or do I just have to get a new card?

That’s true, unless the CPU is getting too hot.

Probably just a new card, is yours still under warranty or anything?

I doubt it's the CPU, if I underclock the GPU by 15%, then everything works perfectly fine, but on the stock clock, it crashes as soon as it goes into a game, (I suspect some software that helps cause this but I don't know.

My card isn't under warranty, I didn't think I would have problems with the card. :/

New card was it for me.

crashing in games.. are you currently using msi afterburner? my buddy had a lot of problems with his 480 using that software.

Try updating drivers and when was your most recent windows update ?

does it lock up, or blue screen? if blue screen what is the code you're getting?

whens the last time you've dusted your pc and are you aware the athlon 200ge has on board graphics ?

Unplug the GPU safely and try to see if that works. Did you install yourself?

Check to see if thermal paste on cpu is done correctly. Check thermals in bios.

What temps are you getting. Try changing the thermal paste

As I said earlier, I doubt it's the CPU, because while I play games the CPU doesn't max out, it stays around 70% in most games

Not using MSI Afterburner, causes crashes.

All drivers have been reinstalled, and so has windows.

No blue screen, the computer black screens, monitor's still on, no audio, no code.

I dusted it this morning, I'm aware

Didn't work, self-built computer, heard pre-builts with this gpu have also experienced problems.

Temps are all fine, paste is re-applied.

Still crashes.

He meant GPU temps I assume...

Well, I can't really re-apply GPU thermal paste without knowing exactly what I'm doing, this is my first PC build, I'm just not at that level yet.

The only way I can get it to work is if I underclock by 15%.
