Good 300$ Graphics Card (CAD)

Charmander

Hi Everyone, I'm planning on buying a new GPU soon. I will be using my PC for gaming, at 2560x1080 at 75fps, but might branch out into video editing and Graphics design in the future. Max is 325 CAD

I was thinking about a GTX 1660 but am not really sure about the GDDR5 VRAM.

Thank you

Id say thats a decent option for your configuration. you wont need much to look good at 75hz

@Charmander you can find new Vega 56's and used Vega 64's for that price, which is much better than the 1660, and is future proof. Just make sure that you have a good cooling solution and PSU.

I lurk

HP Spectre x360 13t late 2019
Core i5 1035g4
8gb ram
256GB NVME SSD
HP 24mh FHD Monitor

OnePlus 5
Jabra evolve 75
Razer Blackwidow Lite

Steelseries Rival 3

Anything RX 580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB class or higher will do the job nicely.

My RX 580 8GB does the job extremely well overall and I can play most games on at least high settings at 2560x1080 at 75hz.

Here is a saved search I have from PC Part Picker for you:

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#X=0,36700&c=439,438,436,391,431,404

You can edit the ranges, but I think at around $300 CAD, a 1660 would be a good choice:

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/sFQG3C/asus-geforce-gtx-1660-6-gb-tuf-oc-video-card-tuf-gtx1660-o6g-gaming

EDIT:

As for video editing and graphic design, the GTX 1660 will do you just fine.

When it comes to content creation, it really comes down to what software you plan to use, but NVIDIA comes out on top in most of the mainstream suites like Adobe.

AMD Ryzen 7 @ 3.9ghz 1.35v w/ Noctua NH-D15 SE AM4 Edition

Thanks a lot, I definitely think I'm going to get a 1660 and overclock it to try and match it to a 1660ti
