I want to upgrade my cpu because it’s starting to slow me down.  What are suggestions for a cooler and cpu I can get for under $350

Oh man, that is one crummy CPU lol.  Grab a 8700k and overclock it to a safe 4.6Ghz and forget about it.  As far as cooler.  The good ones high end are 80 dollars like a DRP 4 or a Noctua DH-15.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

Wait a month, get Ryzen 3600 and an MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard. Use the stock cooler that comes with that, although you could get an aftermarket cooler if you wanted.

Could also go for an Intel i5-9400F and an Asrock B365 (I think it’s a Pro4?). Cheaper, but not as capable. Probably will want an aftermarket cooler like Deepcool Gammaxx 400 over the Intel one.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT | ASUS ROG Strix X470-F | 16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB @3400MHz | EVGA RTX 2080S XC Ultra | EVGA GQ 650 | HP EX920 1TB / Crucial MX500 500GB / Samsung Spinpoint 1TB | Cooler Master H500M

Hold the fuck up.

U are telling me u actually payed full retail price for a Windows Key. Bahahahah bud u ever heard of OEM keys?? Guess not huh, anyways these keys are ones that are locked to your mobo and they are also keys that are sold to corps from MS in bulk so they sell them for cheap.

hence why u can get a cheap copy for 20 bucks on sites that sell OEM keys. Or u can play your luck and get one on ebay for 5 bucks. I trust these key selling sites much more then some shit ebay seller from china.

If u want a response then YOU'D best Quote me so I can see it.

Shouldn't have to say this but the few ruin it for them all......

You have a lot of options to consider. If you're just concerned about your CPU's speed you could always just go for an i7 7700K which comes with a price tag of just under 350 (conveniently), but if you're looking for something newer here's a build I put together for under $350 that will significantly boost your performance as well:

Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X $179.99

Motherboard: AsRock B450M Pro4 $75.61

Memory: 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 MHz $84.99

Total: $340.49

I used DDR4 3200 because Ryzen CPU's perform better with faster memory and since you only had 2400 MHz memory, I opted to go for memory instead of an after market cooler since the 2600X comes with the Wraith Spire cooler and while it isn't top-of-the-line, it's much better than Intel's stock cooler, or (in the case of recent generations) no cooler at all. Of course, you can always swap the Memory out for a cooler if you deem that more important.

======================================================

System Specs:

CPU: i7 4770K Clocked at 4.3 GHz

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z87

Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance Pro 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz Modules clocked at 1866 MHz

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1080 TI SC2

Case: NZXT H500i

Can you explain how this is helpful to OP's issue?

Well, B250 boards don't support 8th gen cpu-s... 1151 v1 instead of 1151 V2..

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )
