thermal pad placement with waterblock

Flowroro

The block didnt come with an instructions manual so based on my markings on the image below is there a place where I shouldnt/dont need to put thermal pads? having some issues with gpu temps wondering if gpu is not making good contact because of this.

tried that already otherwise wouldnt have asked. the closest thing is the asus rog strix. mine is an asus dual oc. the online manual from ekwb is a general one and pcb layout is completely different. instructions only say "here you go you have extras in case you need to put them over x y z components" so it aint very helpful. after some research the rtx 2080 board looks quite similar and the diagram shows only to cover the vrm chips and nothing else. on another rtx 2080 diagram with the same layout it has pads over the chokes as well. looking for someone with experience willing to put some input and suggestions

That card is a reference PCB, so the EK 2080 guide for Founders will work.

thanks, is it fine if my thermal pads are slightly too short width wise and dont fully cover a component? but the majority is covered?

While its not ideal and you dont have left over pieces to put in, just slightly pull and stretch the pad to cover it all.

You messed up the installation. Bottom left and far right shouldn’t have pads. I will check in more detail later, but please read the online manual.
