Problem with psu and sata connectors

Ok so i built my new pc and it's working as intended, after a couple of days i decide to plug my old ssd and hdd to my psu (Seasonic Focus plus gold 750w) and the pc refused to turn on. I have to specify that everything was plugged correctly and i double checked so that's not the issue, i unplugged the sata and the pc went back to working. I have no idea why it doesn't work, help me!!

does it turn on at all? If it posts but doesn't boot, most likely you'll have to go into bios and change the boot order to make sure it's booting off the drive with the operating system.

Maybe the ssd is causing a short circuit, switching the psu off

How many separate lines of SATA power do you have? Sounds like a short to me. I would guess that it's not turning on trying to protect itself.

Is the drive or cable/connector visibly damaged in any way upon close inspection?

Do you have any molex to SATA adapters you could try?

Since it's a new computer I would want to get this sorted out quickly so you can exchange the PSU for another one if it has a problem.
