What the heck is the difference between the MSI X470 Gaming Pro and Gaming Pro Carbon?

Seriously, I can't find it anywhere. The naming convention is so bad guys. Is it just RGB and faceplates?

Edit: Also what about the Gaming Plus? ...Lord....

Different ethernet controllers (realtek vs intel) and the video output is different (DVI/HDMI/DP).

I have, and the spec lists aren't wonderfully descriptive. I was wondering if there was a difference in OC performance you guys might know about. Buildzoid did a good breakdown of the Gaming Plus but not the other two. In fact reliable information I can find on the Gaming Pro non-carbon is pretty sparse.

Hmm, might indicate that the difference is more than just some heat-sinks and RGB tacked on, I was kinda hoping the Pro was just the Pro-Carbon sans flashy, it's a lot cheaper over here..

Different network cards, different audio chips (alc892 vs alc1220) , different usb port on io shield ( 2 type a 10gbps vs 1 type a + 1 type c etc)..

The mosfets on the VRM may be different (higher current, more efficiency, I don't know for sure)...

(comparison in Romanian, but should be fairly easy to understand)

This was really helpful, thanks. I was hoping to find something on the VRM but I think I'm flying blind here. Regardless it looks like to me the Gaming Pro is a cheaper Gaming Plus with no bling. I'll take that.

The main differences I can find are,

Carbon:

2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots

8 x SATA 6Gb/s ports*
Realtek ALC1220

Intel i211AT

Pro:

3 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots

6 x SATA 6Gb/s
Realtek ALC892

Realtek 8111H

The difference is more slots and audio

Yeah, that checks out for me too. Thanks.

For most its about asthetics, the pro carbon looks better, but as they said above^ Ethernet port im pretty sure.
