Darylxx

I want a 7.1 dac to pair with my sennheiser hd 598, would you recommend Soundblaster G5, G6 or Sennheisser GSX 1000?

Because it's just sound much better.

I used to have G5 once and I sold it months ago, I'm so regret selling it. It improved my HD598 in every area, especially when I use it for gaming. It sucked me into another dimension.

Now I want to buy it again but just ask for opinion, perhaps if G6 and sennheiser GSX 1000 would sound better.

Just get a good dac amp. And use the razer suround software or Dolby Atmos for headphones works just as good and probably cheaper.

The way to think about this is that it is like a binaural recording of a 7.1 system. Because it's a binaural recording, it can be played back on headphones. But a binaural recording can also maintain the extra directional information that a 7.1 system has.

Regular stereo, since it breaks things down into left and right, front and back sounds aren't handled well. This is the main problem that is addressed with 7.1 processing.

This video talks about some of the advantages of using virtual surround sound/hrtf in pubg
