Ryzen 3000 is almost here!!! What are you planning to buy???

I’m in for Zen 2, first time I’ve ever built with AMD. Planning on going for Ryzen 7, but we’ll see how the pricing works out and what the motherboards look like.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT | ASUS ROG Strix X470-F | 16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB @3400MHz | EVGA RTX 2080S XC Ultra | EVGA GQ 650 | HP EX920 1TB / Crucial MX500 500GB / Samsung Spinpoint 1TB | Cooler Master H500M

So Ryzen 3000 is quite literally just around the corner with CPUs expected to be on sale by either June or July. Listed below is the RUMORED Ryzen 3000 series lineup, so comment what CPU you would choose if you were building a new Ryzen 3000-based system and why. Im personally waiting for Ryzen 4000 so the 7nm process is refined and matured and because my R5 1600 build is still going strong and tearing most games apart.

Screenshot_20190524-235142.thumb.jpg.58d69735ba73c921c0ccca2a02a865b4.jpg

assuming this table is accurate (i have doubts about the top 16/32 being 499 and 5.1 boost, among others.)

gonna replace the 2600k media/backup rig with a 3300 mini

Keep my 9900k for main gaming cause close enough

replace my friend's 8600k with a 3600x

build 2x 3850x (or next gen) to replace 9900k and a separate workstation once something better than turing comes out. I'm also concerned that 2 chiplets just might suck for gaming, waiting on benchmarks.

Sounds like a decent gaming option if you stick a good cooler on it and OC the living hell out of it to get those speeds up to par. Are you a gamer?

Yeah pretty decent with a RX470 and 768p monitor wouldnt complain tbh.

Pricing is supposed to be close to the table, and some photos of X570 MoBos have leaked. One strange change is the X570 chipsets themselves now have cooling fans on them. Apparently all the changes with 7nm CPUs and PCI-E 4.0 the chipsets were overheating under heavy loads.

I personally have no doubt whatsoever that Ryzen 3000 will hit 5.0 GHz, especially when considering overclocking. We are seeing a massive leap in AMD CPUs by going from 14nm to 7nm. Even if clock speeds fall short of expectations, the IPC improvements will put their performance on par with if you were able to get Ryzen 2000 beyond 5.0GHz anyways.

I have very high hopes for Ryzen 3000 considering its going to be the first Desktop 7nm chip in the world. 7nm is also quite a big deal considering it very well may be the last transistor shrink we get to see in the consumer market for quite some time.

personally i do not think something that is more than 1 month away or unconfirmed to be "around the corner"

the only info i know is that ryzen 3000 will be announced at computex, and will be released at q3 2019 which means between 1 july to 31 September, and it will be weeks after release that it will be available in my country, so its not around the corner, it is still far away

Yeah I've been following the x570 leaks, but I'm just a VRMs novice and I need Buildzoid to tell me who's got the best VRM designs for overclocking a 12 core CPU.

Well Computex is right around the corner and I am sure we will get nearly all the details we need at that point to make informed decisions about what we want to purchase. Yes, of course some countries will be delayed on shipment but Im pretty sure pre-orders will be available again this time around. So I would say you will probably be able to buy one before the end of June, probably receive it mid July (USA anyways).

Yea Im no VRM expert either lol. Ive always liked the features, specs, heatsinks, and the looks of the ASRock Taichi series.

Not sure yet definetly looking for something on lower end. 8c/16 is more than enough for multitasking, gaming and programming (nothing extraordinary, some simple web development and .NET). With reasonable OC (I got currently cheaper b450 MB so I cant really push it hard - currently with r3 1200 bought this winter to wait for Ryzen 3xxx) hopefully hitting at least 4.5Ghz. I´d be happy for many years down the road.

Edit: Concidering I´ve been lucky so far I hope I´ll keep my luck. Q6600 and Sandy Bridge i5 have been awesome purchases.

I will upgrade when my CPU is no longer doing the job.

Which will be a few years I reckon.

Main Rig: Ryzen 7 2700 | T-Force 32GB 3000mhZ | Corsair Carbide SPEC-06 Case | Corsair H100x AIO | Corsair CX750M PSU | Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super Windforce OC

Storage Server: Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 Mini PC | i3 4130T 2.90Ghz | 4GB SoDIMM | 500GB WD Blue Internal | 6TB Seagate External | 1TB Seagate External | OS: Openmediavault

Being kind costs nothing. Make the world a better place!

Nothing until I see real benchmarks and prices.  The lineup looks nice, but you can't make an informed decision with a preorder.

3700x ! That 5ghz boost on amd ?

but probably won’t upgrade my current rig as I only built it in December last year and the 2700x is a very good cpu

3700x if they can hold 5ghz all core

As that will literally be 2 8700ks stuck together and I see that lasting a good 5 years for gaming

- 4000 32gb ram

-4070ti super duper

I would get the 3700x if those specs are real but they are more than likely not.

I bet the 3700x is 8 cores and the 3800x is 12 cores and similar specs to the 3700 for the price that the 3800x is listed then the 3850x will be the specs of the 3800 for the price listed.  Basically take the 3700x and 3850x off that list and move everything down a notch and that will probably be reality.

I don't know why people act like AMD has never beaten them before, since I have been building computers AMD has been on top probably 1/3rd to half the time.  Microsoft sort of saved Intel in the early to mid 2000s by not being ready with a 64 bit OS. AMD was way ahead of Microsoft with the original athlon and the athlon 64 until the core 2 duo came out.

I've waited for zen 2 for a long time since january. Aiming for ryzen 7 but depends on the price of the x570 board. Anything that goes to 5 ghz with no oc or with oc. Hyped for tomorrow!

Well Gamers Nexus has already confirmed a 16 Core SKU so we already know at least that the highest-end Ryzen 9 chips will in fact be some sort of 16C/32T SKU. This was mentioned earlier in comments

i dont get it either, speculating is fun lol (though that specific table is old and both clock and pricing are expected to be inaccurate)

They had an engineering sample of the 16core at 4.3 while a recent table showed the 16core at 749usd (which makes more sense)
