My RAM is under preforming horribly

so recently i built my first pc and i will spare u the details

so i wanted dual channel but unfortunatly the store i was buying my pc from (not online) was out of stock so i had to setle for the normal 1x16 gb one

and i knew since i didnt get a dual channel i woudnt need to place it in the 2nd or 4th slots i put it in the third

anyway does have to do with anything or is there another problem

I think you must put it on the 1st slot...

EDIT: plus the AMD CPU isn't very happy with single and 2400Mhz

You should have gone for 3000/3200Mhhz at least.

The motherboard manual contains a section that shows you where you must put the ram sticks in different configurations, you can't put ram in all nilly-willy.

Usually when you put it only 1 ram stick yu have to put it in ram 1, but it can depend on the motherboard, so read the manual.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Consult the motherboard manual on how to install single DIMM config and then enable XMP

It's 3200 MHz but it's running at 2400 MHz! That should be why it's relatively slow. Check in your bios for the settings to fix its speed, that should help a lot. :)

You should repeatedly press the bios access key (usually F2, could be F1, F4, F11, F12, DEL too :P) while starting up your machine (before Windows pops up) to enter the bios. In there, look for things that relate to "Memory", "XMP", "tuning", "overclocking", or so. Somewhere the speed should be set. If possible, you could try selecting an XMP profile, (or) else you should manually fill in the timings (there are 4) and the speed (3200 MHz) listed by the RAM manufacturer. It should be relatively straight forwards once you find it. :)
