Ryzen 5 3500u

The iGPU is way better.

CPU performance is a bit slower

Power consumption is rather similar afaik.

What are you looking for?

Then they are both good.

But i would wait for reviews before buying the ryzen powered laptop, the 2500u had battery life problems, and while most definitely the 3500u has fixed them, i would still wait for confirmations.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

If it doesnt have discrete graphics. The 3500u will be the better option.

Apperantlynot was a vendor issue regarding batterylife. Though i dont remember where i read that.

It got improved after driver revisions and BIOS updates i believe. Could be wrong tho.

Early models had some idle batterylife issues with the 2500u.

It depends on the other specs of the laptop to see if it's worth it for you, but the 3500u seems a solid core unit as was talked about in your previous thread.

For programming, it really depends on your workflow: some program favors Intel's superior single thread performance while others may take advantage of AMD's better multi thread performance. Look up the program you want to use to see if someone has done any comparison.

As for gaming, don't expect too much from that Vega 8: it's still an integrated graphic solution but it's way ahead of Intel Graphics Technology.
