You mean Asus?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

i have asus rog strix z390-e motherboard, iam gonna buy the corsair 280x case and need a smaller motherboard.

someone wants to trade it with a ssus tuf z390m pro gaming mobo, is it a good deal ? what are the differences between these two?

(using i79700k oc 4.9ghz)

The ASUS Z390M Pro WiFi is a lower tier motherboard than your STriX Z390-E.

Unless it's motherboard + something else, that is an unfair trade.

The TUF Z390M Pro WiFi also uses a weaker VRM system compared to the Z390-E.

Do you NEED to stick with ASUS motherobards?

It's on the very expensive side but there's the ROG z390 Maximus XI Gene... if you use a Noctua NH-L12S or Noctua NH-L9x65 you can run that i7 9700K at 5ghz on a very small case.

The Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming (mATX)

MSi Z390M Gaming Edge (mATX)

Gigabyte Z390-i Aorus Pro WiFi (ITX)

MSi Z390i Edge (ITX)

AsRock Phantom Gaming ITX/AC (ITX)

would more a bit more comparable to your Z390-E.

For ITX form factor?

From what I am aware, yes, the Maximus Gene XI Gene is one of the best mATX board out there -- over-built board.

It it actually BETTER than your Z390-E on the VRM front.

Best board for mATX is the Maximus 11 Gene, that's it. mATX boards of Z370 and Z390 chipsets are mostly weak, to a point that even mITX outperforms (apart from the EVGA Z370 Micro, but I dont know if EVGA has 9th gen support for that since there's no Z390 Micro).

How much Core Voltage are you using for your 4.9 GHz overclock?

The i7-9700K is not as power hungry as the i9-9900K at 4.9 / 5.0 GHz...

The Gigabyte Z390M Gaming, should be suitable ... more or less

like what @Princess Luna did

give me one major benifit a GENE has over something like a Z390 M gaming?

Heres a little chart:

                                                                           Gene                               Z390M gaming

Fucking overkll vrm for air cooling?                   yup.                                 pretty good, but not godly

2x dimms for 4600mhz+ DDR4?                        yup.                                     4 slots for ~4000mhz

SLI                                                                     nope.                                nope.

ALC1220 audio?                                                yup                                  saving the 250$ and buying a 100$ dac amp would be 10x better

2 m.2?                                                               yup                                       yup

lots of usb 3.0 and 3.1?                                         yup                              yup

slow mode, and onboard reset buttoms?             yup                              nice oc with a L12s

6 Sata connectors?                                           NOPE                           Yup

ALL THE RGB                                                  meh                                only single 12v GRB  (spend the 250$ saved for a corsair commander pro + light strips)

Wifi?                                                                yup                                    spend the  250$ saved for a 3x3 or a 4x4 and use the 2 extra pcie slots

4 pcie slots?                                                   1gpu + 1x                             1 gpu + 2 1x + 1 4x

only useful thing the gene has is a post code
