Heavy on the ad-blocking software, run as limited user, no AV needed then.

I have paid BitDefender, but if you are running some other browser than Firefox, free one works fine too.

For the longest time i've been using windows with no antivirus, and honestly neve had any problem. But recently i'm switching to windows for my main computer, (I was a mac user before) and that raised the question, is it secure enough to keep using no AV, or is a good idea to have one?

Windows has it's own right? But is it enough?

That sort of depends. If you are the kind of person that will download anything from anywhere, then no, you'll need some kind of pro-active protection.

If you stick to trusted sites (Steam, for example) then the built-in will be fine, and on occasion, run something like Malwarebytes just to see if anything slipped through.

This is what I do, and have for years, without issues.

Anti-virus software increases your attack vectors and generally lowers your computer's security. The only recommendable anti-virus software is a daily backup and update routine.

Write in C.

For free I would go with AVG or Avast

Paid, Bitdefender only
