IMO, I think USB sound cards are useless/performance improving device. But, up to a context, the do. :D

Only thing I can think of is the Xonar U3. I don't know how much it costs nor how it performs, but hey, it's USB ;)

Edit: maybe this will help http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Xonar-Sound-Cards-XONAR_U3/product-reviews/B0054L8GVK

At this price, you will have to build your own for meaningful performance improvements. If you're just looking for a volume boost, then almost anything that provides decent gain will do.

i need one as my laptops sound doesnt really work. given if i am going to get a usb sound card anyways, i might as well spend a little more

well, if you need microphone and such, you could get a Xonar U3. Creative X-Fi Go Pro could also work, but I feel Creative's drivers are worse than ASUS. If you don't need a mic, spending a little more and going for a FiiO E10 is a great choice.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Syba USB Sound Card

Edit: Sorry, looks like it's discontinued on Amazon. Creative makes a device in your budget. I'd go with something with a cable between it and the PC for durability reasons mostly, but maybe that's just me.
