Any tips for my budget build?

So i have a pc that i bought some years ago some of it its generic, i want to update it (my main language is spanish, so sorry for that)

 

MOBO 

Asrock H61M - VG3

 

CPU

Intel i5 2400 3.1 ghz

 

Ram

2x 2gb ddr3

 

GPU

Nvidia geforce GT 220 1gb

 

Storage

#1 320 gb hdd 7200 rpm 

#2 320 gb hdd 5400 rpm

 

PSU

Fivestar 600w (generic)

 

Case

Generic (small to medium size)

 

i bought it in 2014 for 240 usd. So il will get some cash to upgrade it (500 usd at most) then i look on my country (costa rica) for components and i found some that are good price and quality. The plan its update it to RAM 2x 8gb teamgrup ddr3 1600mhz, GPU RX 580 8gb sapphire pulse, water cooler Corsair h45, PSU gigabyte 500w 80plus bronze and get a SSD 240 gb kingston and a HDD 1tb toshiba 7200 rpm what do u guys think?

actually i don´t want another CPU right now, i think it will be ok for now (cos no cash )

its a generic PSU, so a bit of google i find out that it will be bad if i don´t remplace it

get a better gpu gtx1660/ti and 1x 8gb ram + 500gb ssd only.

leave others alone.

dont need that. If stock cooler is too bad, get a bigger air cooler. Cheap as Deepcool 400 or Hyper 212 is already overkill by a big margin.

8+4 still sucks as far as I'm concerned, might as well save some budget on a 4gb stick to get a bigger SSD and better PSU imo.

So 2x 8gb will be overkill? having 2x 4gb wil be better? my country and my room are hot like 35 degrees every day and i plan to push the CPU a bit for more perfomance 

the PSU care me less right now cos compability for the GPU anyway thx for the tip

If you are upgrading the GPU you may mot have a choice but to upgrade the PSU. Not all generic PSU's have the connectors let alone the supply for a GPU.

You don't need a flash PSU by the way,  so Long as it is branded (not generic or unknown), a cheaper one will work fine. I put the cheaper Corsair and gigabyte stuff in all my budget builds.

you can't overclock tho. Also even the i7-8700's fine with the coolers I've mentioned, that's way more heat from the CPU.

Just to add to this;  a GPU, PSU and ssd/hdd can be taken to your next computer, the ram can't (maybe not even the cooler pending).  Therefore put as much into the GPU with 8G ram and then whatever you have left split over the ssd,  hdd and PSU if necessary. 

 

Personally I wouldn't power a new GPU with an unbranded PSU.

for the PSU i think the same due to the price of GPUs 

i din´t think that way for the PSU and Storage, i use this pc 24/7 so i have alot of files of my famliy and personal, hdd will be waste of money then? this is my first update to my rig so im pretty new

HDD tend to have an increased rate of failure from about the 5 year mark, which means if you have a lot of things stored its worth replacing them every 4 years anyway. 

 

If it were my system I would upgrade the ram to 8G (as this is enough for now and technically a stop gap measure so you can continue to use the CPU), I would get the ssd (any brand or type will suffice), a 1 or 2TB hdd, the GPU you listed and an entry level PSU from coolermaster, Antec,  corsair et al.

Forget the cooler.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, then i will get 2x 4gb ram, PSU  that its no trash, and 2 sdd for better storage to future, i was looking for another GPU but din´t find more than gtx 1050 ti 4gb for less than the rx 580 but it´s not worth it, rx580 still much better for price, again thx alot!

I meant one ssd for the C drive and one HDD for storage.  You will get way more TB for your dollar on an HDD for storage.

i had a dead hdd one time and lost some family files so i what no risk to happening again but 1 sdd 960gb will do for now  and with these components will save some money!

Then I suggest you make regular back ups onto your old hard drives and have them sitting in a drawer.   (which is good advice anyway, I lost everything on my pc in a power surge once).

get a 2.5" portable drive , imo 2tb or 4tb are best value ones

idk what a drawe is but yea personaly i will try ssd then hdd for games and etc

an SSD isn’t a bad idea but GPU first. Ram is okay but could be better.

Get a cheap and used i7 or Xeon.
 

Get another brand of PSU if you can. FSP, Silverstone, Corsair, etc., etc.
