Ubisoft Messed Up: R6 dual core issue on a quad core

I just upgraded to a quad core I5 no HT CPU just to play R6 since they cut support on dual core CPUs. Now I still get freeze and crash to desktop right on round start when map/characters are loaded. I started big topics on Ubisoft forums and Steam forums and had this everywhere on media since I was on dual core. They didn't give any info or detail about what happened or what did they broke it's a crazy CPU support list related issue and no one on the big gaming news sites wrote a review about this: 20% of players can't access R6 anymore after Burnt horizon patch. They just told us to upgrade from 2 cores to 2 cores with HT or 4 cores as their system requirements but now I still have this problem unsolved and I'm above the system requirements.

Sorry but this looks like a bug in the patch, in which case there's nothing you can do except hope the next one fixes it.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

This was an issue with FC4 iirc, you could not launch the game unless you had 4 threads, physical or not, had to be 4. It's a ubi thing.

Now more info, your build? Specific usage spikes when freezing happens? Reinstalled bloody everything, game, drivers, etc.?

Might be a just a bugged patch as mentioned.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

R6 is one of the few games that scales the workload across all cores, my R7 1700 can be fully utilized with my 1080 hanging back pretty easily at 1080p. Even some 16 TR chips can be fully utilized. Although with this optimization of high core counts comes de-optimization and cutting off lower core count chips. They didnt have to completely cut off dual cores, but it was their choice. This could either be a glitch with the update, or you may need to reinstall the game / uplay and that may fix it. Ubisoft support chat seemed to be really helpful whenever I had a problem, so you could always try asking them.

No usage spikes or any related issues completely stable fps, usage, temp. I didn't want to reinstall the windows after upgrading the CPU just made sure it's fully detected and activated. Freezing happens then crash to desktop on the same sec

I can't go back to windows 7 and it doesn't sound like a final fix. The game worked perfectly on dual core before the patch

Just updated all CPU drivers and verified game files if that's how to reinstall a 100+ gb game. Death of a game

Wait, you said the system requirements moved up to a quad core, and you got a quad core, but are having severe issues, you meet the requirements don't you?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
