Electric cooker instead of heat gun

feisi200

Hey everyone, so I want to change my screen on huawei p20 lite because it has break, but I don't have the heat gun to remove back. Do you think if I would hold it in front of electric cooker it would help? (I ve seen lot of people used heat gun but some didn't used anything and went straight up to removing back, so I am a bit confused if I need it at all). Thanks for any advices and tips.

Use a hair dryer from some distance ... basically just enough to have warm air blow on the back.

Dunno what kind of cooker you have ... if it's induction plate than the induction part could damage chips inside the phone if the phone is too close to it ... it heats metal bits inside while the other bits stay cool, things heat unevenly, chips can pop because of this and so on...

May be possible to boil some water and then use the heat rising from the water ... but then you'd probably trip the humidity sensors inside the phone.

A heat gun is fairly cheap, you don't need anything fancy. Not sure if an electric cooker would work at all tbh

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
