Will depend on the game, your system specs etc.

Even a 2080Ti can't do 90 FPS in every game at 1440P when the settings are maxed out.

Really? In most games I play it’s 76-110fps depending on game but all ultra settings

would of expected from a 2080Ti to at least push 100fps + at 1440p.

Depends on the game and the settings, everything maxed out etc.

Some games are very demanding.

I do understand this, but considering I can get normal FPS with a 2070 (which today is being sold as shit due to pricing) and a 2080Ti which is twice as expensive still doesn’t do it I wonder.

i mean I would love 11gb of vram. My 8 always get fully eaten on most games I play. (C:S, Rust, foundation just as examples)

Nothing is absolute.

The games are really outpacing the GPU's again.

It will in just about all games go over 100 FPS, it's just some of the newer ones.

High Refresh Rate 1440p deserves Radeon VII/RTX 2080/GTX 1080ti. That's the ideal option. Vega 64/RTX 2070/GTX 1080 is the absolute bare minimum unless you are going for esports games.

I'd personally go for Radeon VII if you're buying new (It has double the vram over the 2080's 8gb so it's a more safe option for higher resolutions), or go for the 1080ti if you're buying used. I've gone for a Radeon VII for my 1080p ultrawide setup. Not done yet cause I'm waiting for zen2 to finish it but yeah..Radeon VII/1080ti are safer than the 2080 is for the future. Some games are already approaching 8gb even at 1440p.

First rule of buying gpu's is to avoid the 2070 at all costs even if it means going onto the used market. That card is awful for the price. Vega 64 is cheaper, you get the better cooler design (Usually Nitro+ or Strix), and you retain the 8gb vram.

Unless you're playing Assassins Creed Odyssey and nonsense like that (Chances are you're not) then you should be okay for the most part with vega 64 if you turn it to high settings instead of ultra.

1080 Ti will even struggle to get you that on AAA games.  The "High" preset is generally the best preformance vs visuals as far as settings go.  Ultra gives you a minor bump in visuals, but at a sizeable preformance hit.  What I would recommend is use the High preset, see what your FPS is, then if you have some headroom, bump a few of your preferred settings to Ultra until you have the combination of FPS and visuals that you want.  Hardware Unboxed frequently puts up settings test videos on the most popular AAA games and is a good source as to which settings are the best to move to Ultra.

Probably the RTX2080Ti but not worth the money. So I bought the 1080Ti last year and it serves me very well. Of there it depends on the games. Like for example, my 1080Ti can do the regular graphics setting on ultra, even with Grass on Ultra is no problem. But the Advanced Graphics on the other hand... I disabled them all. Your 1060 prbably can do 1440p but not at 90FPS or you have to lower graphics setting.

A 1060 3GB at 1440P?

No, just NO.

That's a 1080P card at best.

The absolute bare min for 1440P would really be a GTX 1070 and that will struggle depending on the game.
