No, it won't go down.

There was an over supply of RAM in the market, resulting in lower prices. I don't see them making the same mistake again.
DDR3 might drop when DDR4 is a little more mainstream and people switch to purchasing that instead, resulting in clearances of overstock.

Historically, it takes about a year or more for prices to normalize again. Look back at the time there was flooding at HDD manufacturing plants, HDD prices for 1TB jumped from $80(USD) to almost $200(USD) during the HDD shortage period. if you are planning on building some time in the near future, either purchase what you can afford, then upgrade later when prices normalize again. Or bite the bullet and pay the inflated price.

recommend purchase what you can afford then upgrade later.

A Hynix factory in China responsible for 30% of the total DRAM market caught fire. So the basics of supply and demand kick in and up goes the prices. It could take longer than a year for prices to equalize again. Chances are DDR4 will be out and available long before DDR3 prices go back down. Seeing how every manufacture already is producing or currently is shifting resources to producing DDR4 (Samsung has been manufacturing DDR4 since the middle of last year).

Well, I found some 1600mhz ram ddr3 (2x4gb) on amazon.ca for 60$(shipping and taxes included) ,53$ original price

Or

On newegg. There's a 2400mhz ram ddr3 (2x4gb) for 80$ (shipping and taxes included), 67$ original price

Nah, I just want to know more detail on the ultra sudden increase in RAM. Thanks for the suggestions though.

manufactures are just taking advantage of that fire that realistically only affected about 10% of the memory market. They are just price gouging at this point.
