Virtualization problem

Hey guys its me again. I have an optiplex 780 that has a processor that supports VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration. However i am unable to utilize this because even after updating the bios to the current version(revision A15) I have no option to enable it. Anybody know a way around this?

Sounds like:

Its under a different name

or

Dell disabled it, cause dell.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Dell might very well not have the option in their bios. If you are lucky they might have a tool where you can export the bios configuration to an xml, change the setting and import it again.

Hope that you learned 2 thing today: 1. Don´t use old OEM junk 2. If old OEM junk work be happy and don´t repair it if it ain´t broke.

  • 3 weeks later...

I found a solution! While virtualization was enabled so was trusted execution. Disabling t.e. fixed it.
