Can two desktops work in tandem - CPU Sli

Just wondering if it’s possible (like on dual socket motherboards CPU SLI effectively) to have two desktops one the slave and my main rig to increase CPU horsepower so the load is shared between the two. Sounds challenging but curious if this is possible for the main and slave processors to work together resulting in scaled performance.

search "multi-socket motherboard". You need two identical CPUs though

Seems the only option but I don’t want to tear apart the love of my life and get new equipment. Sort of a cheap upgrade given I’ve got a Xeon quad core (not sure which version very old) but if that could some how be mated with or SLId with or load shared with my 3770k via an interface that would be pretty damn awesome

limited to certain Xeons and AMD server chips, your 3770k wont do it.

Clustering is networked machines sharing load. It's more for rendering/compiling and other long CPU intensive loads. Not really any use for general computing and gaming.

True, I’m just curious to see if a game load across my old 3770k which is almost bottlnecking can be shared across another Z77 processor via LAN and software. Load would be split 50/50 or so across the master and the slave. Not only for gaming but for cad and rendering and general performance for considerably less than a dual socket board with new Lga 20xx processor.

What I’m trying to say is the data from say solidworks or games on the master SSD is sent to both CPUs for processing sharing the load and the graphics work can be done on the master and outputted to the monitor
