Budget (including currency): No real budget this is a fun build I want to do for just gaming. I have a top tier PC but I use it for gaming and Workload so I am just making a dedicated gaming setup the best I can without going to overboard but still a nice enthusiast style PC. I know its vague but I want the best while not paying for stuff that's way overkill or doesn't fit the style I want.

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: all games future and current I do kinda want Ray Tracing to be good as I like to play Cyberpunk and some other titles.

Other details TLDR specs below. So I saw the new Corsair 6500x and had to have it that is the driving point. I got the 6500x RGB kit with the iCUE LINK H150i LCD Liquid CPU Cooler, and the RMx Series™ RM1000x — 1000 Watt 80 PLUS Gold PSU. I am getting the Asus Rog Strix B650E-E as it has 4 NVME with 2 being 5.0 which I am not going 5.0 right now I can wait a bit for that to get cheaper as I want 4tb ones. I do want to maybe at a later date get a Zero type Mobo as this case is great for it but the options just are not where I want them now. I am getting the Rysen 7 7800X3D as it seems like the best gaming CPU now. For the ram right now I am just getting corsair vengeance 32 gig 2x16 6400 mhz. I am also getting 4 4tb gen 4 NVME and 4 4tb ssd's for storage.

TLDR:

Case/PSU/AIO: Corsair 6500X RGB bundle

CPU: Rysen 7 7800x3d

Mobo: Asus Strix B650E-E

Ram: Vengeance 32gig 2x16

Video card?????

So first I want a ram upgrade in the near future (what I have is just to get it running and to be fair its enough I just like 4 sticks of ram) thinking about Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB 96 gig 4x24 I know its over kill for gaming but I like 4 sticks of ram for the looks and its hard to find 4 sticks that I like the looks of I could go for the same just 64 gig 4x16 but for just a little more I can get the 96 gigs right now only $100 usd more so why not thoughts on this should I just go 2 sticks the 32 gig set I have I know will be enough but I still like the look of 4 sticks.

Next is the Video card (note I want a good looking one as I want the vertical mount for it) right now the AMD 7900 XTX is around the same price as the Nvidia 4080 Super this is where my real issue comes in I know the 4080S sounds like the winner but I kinda want to make it a full AMD Powerhouse but its hard for me to pass on the ray tracing and DLSS on Nvidia I am used to Cyberpunk on my 4090 but dont super need Ray tracing although I hear the 7900xtx is still about the same as the 4080S. Also I game right now at 1080p just because I have nice monitors for work so I never upgraded. I don't think I will like 4k as I do that with Ps5 and xbox and just don't care. I want some ok 1440 monitors though so this is a factor. Also any Idea on monitors dont need to go super fancy was looking at getting 2 Curved AOC 27 inch 240hz 1440 0.5ms response ones at around $240usd each and running them one above the other I just like my monitors to be the same for the looks. I also love the AOC monitors I have used them a bunch and love the quality of them. Kinda want to go with 32 inch monitors not really sold on it though I think 27 inch is enough. Not looking to spend a ton on the monitors I did find a InnoView Curved 32 inch 240hz 1ms with amd freesync but they are $450 each, I dont know the brand to well they do make good monitors from what I hear. Also I dont like the ultra wide ones much unless you can change my mind.

So:

Thoughts on the setup and Ram:

Thoughts on the Video Card:

Thoughts on 2 monitors:

Then don't go DDR5. 4 DIMMs of DDR5 is finicky at best, with certain BIOS revisions liable to not even boot with all 4 DIMMs installed. DDR5 motherboards should only come with 2 DIMM slots as far as I'm concerned, the other two are purely decoration and unless you absolutely need 192GB+ of RAM should not be used.

If you're going AM5, don't go for 6400MT/s. It would either default to 2:1 mode and have terrible performance compared ot the cheaper 6000 CL30 or default to 1:1 mode and be 50/50 whether it would blue screen once you get into Windows. Save your money and just go with the 6000 CL30 kit.

As for the GPU, if the 4080S and the 7900 XTX are the same price, the 4080S is better for the sole reason the power consumption is lower. Both are fine cards though, so if you really want all AMD that's not the worst idea ever. Just know that new high end cards are coming out soonish, so you might just want to wait until then and go for a 5080 or something then.

Good to know about the Ram just saw my MOBO supports 6400 but did see that it might not like 6400. I 100% forgot about the new cards coming out this year so I may just wait for a 5080 or 5090 if I feel like it. I think I have a amd 6700 XT laying around I may just pop that in for now.
