DVI-D to Display Port?

Good afternoon! Just realized I had a bit of an issue. In a fit of impulse buying I purchased the rtx 2080 and it is arriving today. Well my 144hz monitor only has HDMI and DVI-D while the 2080 has Display Port, HDMI, and USB-C. As far as I am aware, HDMI is not going to carry the 144hz signal. I can't seem to find a converter that supports DVI-D to USB-C/Display Port that supports 144hz. Anybody have another solution or know where I can find what I'm looking for? I want to rule out this being an option before I commit to purchasing a new monitor all together.

The 2080's HDMI ports should support 144Hz.

The question is if your monitor and cable can support 144Hz over HDMI. 
I believe you need HDMI 2.0 for this functionality, but don't quote me.

You're spot on. I'm crossing my fingers. Once I get off work, I'll have to look the monitor up and check.

In case your monitor doesn't have HDMI 2.0,

This adapter supposedly can do 1080p 144Hz.

An active displayport adapter to dual link DVI.

Not cheap though.  Also, 1080p resolution.

 

Probably better off getting a new monitor instead as a good quality active adapter can run up to 100 bucks and over.

Dang, at that price, I'm just going to go ahead and upgrade monitors. The one I have has a couple dead pixels as it is. Well shoot. Thanks though!

Yea, these active adapters are cashy. A new monitor with DP should suit you nicely though, happy hunting.
