What GPU do I need to run Dota2 and CSGO at high setting With 240 FPS

Anything past 160FPS isn't that much of a noticeable difference in my opinion. But regardless what is your current CPU and GPU?

I'm pretty sure Source games rely more on CPU than GPU.

Ryzen 5 2600 is the best value and allows for more budget allocation towards a higher end GPU, if you can find a good deal in your region a used GTX 1080 Ti is a great choice.

Current Ryzen CPUs are bad for high FPS gaming. Your best bet would be highly overclocked 8600k and up with RTX2060-2070

Old source games are not multithreaded very well. The faster of a cpu you throw at it, the higher framerates you are going to get. Ryzen 3 has low clock speeds and is geared towards efficiency and low price, which it does very very well. We don't know how Zen 2 is going to perform yet nor do we know what the line up will look like and when they will come out, but we can at least safely say it's going to be an improvement over Ryzen 2000. Zen 2 should be very very attractive for all other applications but it's unlikely the single thread performance will exceed Intel. Even if it does it's going to be only on the higher end skus which will be price competitive to Intel's current offerings, in single thread performance at least. 

 

If you want a constant 240fps+, you're going to need a fast cpu and that's going to matter much more than the gpu for CS:GO.

For whatever reason I couldn't make League run on Ryzen at all properly. I had R5 1600 overclocked to 3.9 and still had major FPS drops in LoL with GTX1080. My average was 90-100 with dips to low 40s. As soon as I switched to 8700k - boom I have stable 200+FPS with the same GPU. Same for CS GO.

I wouldn't count on it. Ryzen 3 won't out of nowhere be able to overclock to 5Ghz+ with mad single more IPC

How much are you willing to spend? You can get a 5 2600/ I5 8400 with a gpu that is above 1070

Yeah, but from everything that's been put on the table, I'm expecting a 10% ipc and clock speed bump, so about 5% better ipc than coffee lake while clocking around 4.6 all core. It'll probably match coffee lake in games.

for some reasons we are close enough that i can say the pricing more or less the same. ok first of all get a decent PSU thats also cheap. i will reccomend that tier B and upwards. same part of ASIA

i have a 2600x and RTX 2060 with 16GB @ 3200mhz at max 1080p with shadows at low and antialiasing at 4x and fxaa off i get about 300-400fps is that good?. here is a good settings if youre not into shadows and want a constant 240Fps just do a bit of customization.

that's CSGO i believe. with Ryzen 5 2600 and 2060 Dota is not quite reaching 200FPS yet with max settings, idk the customization for Dota 2 even though i played it
