saying royal

TheBean

is it just me, or have all the battle royale styled games made it impossible for me to say royal (not royale)? I keep saying royale even if I try to say royal.

To be fair, there's next no reason to ever say "royal" in a normal conversation. I sure as hell can't remember the last time I had to say it.

This is not something I really have an issue with - partially because I knew some words/names/phrases with 'royal' in them before I knew 'royale'. For example the Mario Kart track "Royal Raceway".

"We're all in this together, might as well be friends" Tom, Toonami.

I see far more people typing "battle royal" than I hear say "royale" in place of "royal"; I'd probably say that if anything, it's the opposite of your statement, and you're probably in the minority.

I've said "royalty" to a few Brits in the past few months, but that's about as close as I get.

Nope. I say it without the royal.
