I need a definitive answer. GTX1060 6GB or RX580 8GB?

centurion_08

For this price/performance range i need a conclusion. I must say I seen a bunch of YouTube comparisons but I can't get a straight answer. Just to summarise the information.

RX580 stock

-Cheaper

-Almost the same performance in dx11/games.

-Vulkan better performance.

-Affordable Freesync.

-8 GB of Vram (which is good for mods)

-About 8 degrees hotter than 1060.

1060 stock

-Cooler

-Frame pacing seems a bit better

-Nvidia gameworks features

-Physx in certain games

-DX12 games seem to run better.

-6 GB of Vram is also plenty

If I missed something something then enlight me. Which one would you pair with r5 2600?

Kind Regards Andrew

RX 580 is same performance for less, no reason not to get it in your case.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah plus you get 2 games now so RX580 is a better deal by a long shot

The RX 580, although you need a adequate power supply with it (The 580 consumes a lot of power, some can be as high as 220W!!)

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux

It is actually 185 W not as extreme as you said like 500w-600w power supply is enough

For higher end aftermarket cards, it is 225W.

However yes a 500W-600W PSU is enough

RX 580 is a better buy but it will run hotter compared to 1060 and takes more power
