i7 7700k rocketing to 100 degrees C on load. help!

So my cpu and cooler (h100i v2) are probably around 1-2 years old. I am rendering a edited video (with techsmith camtasia)... open task manager and see that its on full load. so i open corsair link and 2 of the 4 cores are at 100 C the other 2 are at ~32 C, Im wondering if my cooler needs to be replaced or there is a simple solution or do i need a new rig?

 specs:

CPU: i7 7700k

MoBo: MSI Z170A-pro

ram: 32gb corsair vengance 3000mhz

cooler: h100i v2--- using corsair high performance SP fans

PSU: Rm650x

GPU: GTX 1060 3gb

Replace your thermal paste and remount the cooler, if it's still bad you could try de-lidding your CPU

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

Can you hear the pump humming? Anything look weird in corsair link?

idle temps are in 40-50 C

no humming besides the fan... maybe a slight sound of the pump

O. Cooler mounted wrong , paste improperly applicated? or RMA cooler?

just using HWInfo to make sure that it's not just a software bug or anything

Sounds odd there are two cores higher than the other two.  I'd start off with what others suggested with remounting and reapplying thermal paste.  While you have the cooler dismounted, I'd remove it completely and give it a few gentle giggles just to be sure there are any trapped air bubbles inside the pump.  If you're still running into issues, I'd reach out to our technical support team, and they can see what the next best step would be.
