DIY eGPU

Go to solution Solved by TheBean,

if you want amd gpu, get the gigabyte gaming box. to do it yourself would be very janky and time consuming. you cant do it anywat because of intel licenses on tb3.

Hello, does anyone know the best way to build a GPU enclosure? I don't have the money to spend 400+ canadian dollars on just a enclosure and then a couple hundred on a graphics card. I bought the Razer blade stealth (2017) yesterday and I am in need of a external gpu to play more demanding games. There have been posts on here but they don't really help or answer a completely different question. I need it to have thunderbolt 3 do I can plug it in. Thank you

Look on ebay for a TB3 to PCIe 16x slot, shouldn't be too hard to find. Then you need a power supply. Make a nice box if you care and done

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

You'd need a TB3 to a PCIe x16 slot. On top of that you'd need a separate power supply. I'm also pretty sure TB3 cannot supply 75W to the PCIe slot on the off-chance the video card sucks power from there, so you need the convert to take a PCIe power plug too.

That is all the info I will need, I will check out the gaming box and look at what's on Ebay. Thank you
