Fpga for x86 instuction conversion to ARM RISC

Would something along the lines of an FPGA programmed to convert x86 instructions to ARM RISC, such that thre wouldn´t be a need for hypervisor to handle the x86 instructions and slow down the ARM processor, be feasible?

Rumors are, Apple is working on a solution to use x86 program on ARM processor, since they are planning on using A-series chip on MacBook.
