BF V (firestorm)?

A game where what must be relished ?  FPS or the picture/graphics  quality?(high ultra.....)

Ok so with the advent of firestorm .. how would one dial that settings ...to choose the image quality or high frames (without compromising the quality to such an  extent that streamers do) ?

i would dial up quality, because i play on a 60 hz monitor

 

and i like quality and details in my games

I would aim for as more fps as possible, Battlefield games have issues already it's not wise to bloat them with additional on-screen stuff you can see but others don't.

I would set it to more FPS, but without sacrificing too much quality.

But isn’t battlefield 5 a visual treat to the eye?   Btw what do you think. Will the firestorm suck more juice out of the gpu or lesser so that we can obtain more fps

It's a visual treat if you play it for the graphics, but most people that play multiplayer either cheat or play it to feel competitive (especially if playing with friends).

 

Firestorm will probably be more CPU intensive than regular BFV. The map is larger and it's 64 players + various items and loot are scattered everywhere.

I don't think it will push a GPU any more than the regular Conquest.

So how would a i5 9400f. Or a r5 2600 or possibly 3rd gen ryzen stack up?  Can they be called a decently- powerful cpu?

Mid-range CPU-s like those should be OK. But not with something stronger than a GTX 1080Ti, an RTX 2080 or a Radeon 7.

I'm not sure I understand the question, can you elaborate?

The prettier a game, the more GPU intensive it is (plus 'extra' graphics features like certain types of anti-aliasing, etc.)

A 'real' CPU intensive game does a ton of calculations on you CPU, e.g. in a game with a ton of NPC's walking around (e.g GTA or Assassins' Creed) the CPU will be busy with calculating what the NPC's should do. A multiplayer game could fall under this too, as your CPU needs to load in a ton of other players.

 

If a game is CPU or GPU intensive is basically just observed; as in if a game is super ugly, your GPU doesn't need to do a ton, so it automatically becomes CPU intensive (and vice versa).

Football Manager and Civilisations are CPU intensive. 

 

I mostly play games like that.

 

A typical boring old AAA title with pointless things like real time ray tracing is probably GPU intensive... but I wouldn’t know anything about those.

A game with lots of AI will often use more CPU than GPU because it needs to do lots of calculation such as strategy games like Total War Attila or Cities Skyline or Massive multiplayer games..that being said games like Planetside 2 are also CPU intensive because the games from what i heard also rely on CPU to render shadows.

 

While pretty looking games mostly single player will rely more on GPU although Witcher 3 is a bit cpu intensive too..
