I've always had this assumption with regards to potentially less well known/ less 'reputable' brands like Zotac, PNY and INNO3D; my assumption has always been that these brands will make lower quality cards in some way compared to bigger brands like MSI, EVGA and Gigabyte because of the lower prices. Is this me making an incorrect assumption or is there some truth to this? Just curious.

Thanks!

Nah there is no harm in getting any of these brands though I would say out of all of them i would get a Zotac as they have been getting a good reputation in recent years.

I almost went with a Zotac GPU myself, but i got my EVGA for real cheap.

PNY seems to be more.... middly

Not good, not bad

Dont know much about INNO3D

Some of what they make is worse, but some of the worst coolers tend to come out of the medium-large ones like MSI and Gigabyte

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

They are not "worse", just different markets. All companies make "good" and "bad" cards.

The only thing bad might be warranty, as they often are based in other countries, and not have good service.

PNY is a great supplier of quadros, besides nvidia, they are the only 1 i think.

INNO3D

Both my boyfriend and I had INNO3D-branded GTX970's and there was nothing wrong with them or lower-quality than with any other brand. Cooling worked well, they were both very silent cards, overclocking worked fine -- there weren't any bells-and-whistles, but otherwise they were perfectly good cards.

The PCBs are usually pretty much the same. The coolers can be better or worse. Powercolor's "red dragon" is one of the best rx 580s on the market.

The main difference is usually in customer service and warranty. Evga warranty service is amazing they will cross ship and often even upgrade you.

The only things that are different between a well-known, reputable card manufacturer like EVGA or ASUS and a lesser-known card manufacturer like Palit is the warranty, support and sometimes the cooling solutions (and thermal performance by extension).

Just have to really pay attention to what you are buying, read and or watch the reviews if there are any for the cards you are looking at.

ZOTAC is more of a budget brand currently so look at the reviews comparing to others etc before buying.

Haven't used a PNY card in a long time so I don't know how they are currently.

Don't know anything about INNO3D.

I stick with ASUS and EVGA personally.
