just found out while listening to a guy talk about mantle

that alone proves its going to be awesome cause Open Gl is beatly already

That's pretty sick actually. I thought it was a whole new thing that devs had to implement.

That alone proves absolutely nothing and we will still have to wait for real world numbers before we can say anything at all about the actual performance difference it will make.

I guess it makes sense though, if you were going to make an API you might as well make it only take advantage of your products. If this is true I expect there to be a cuda based API at somepoint.

well it kinda is but people who know how to work with OpenGl would have less issues i guess

it actually does we now know Mantle is at least as good as openGl which is alot more than we knew before if u know the differences between direct x and open gl you will see open gl is decently superior. definitely a noticeable improvement

my memories a bit fuzzy and i can't google right now, does anyone remember if opengl was a 3dfx thing and/or bought out by nvidia?
