Top Motherboards for I7-9900K

Hi So I'm Looking for a new motherboard for the 9700K and most of the ones that i saw recommended the Maximus XI line, But according to some people these boards have some problems like they have significantly lesser vrams than the Aorus Z390 line. I'm a bit confused on what to choose i mean i will be using the pc for heavy gaming and a couple of engineering programs. Which one should i Choose?

It doesn't sound like you've done allot of research, also your title says 9900K and your OP says 9700K, you don't need a super VRM power stage for the 9700K but you do need one for the 9900K.

Don't stress too much, pick the Z390 Aorus Elite, Ultra or Master depending on your budget and necessity.

I have the Gigabyte Z390 Ultra I like it. Confusing with overclocking at first..but I have my 9900k at 5ghz running 50c on most games up to 70c max. But I am also on a custom loop.

I would also vote for the Gigabyte Aorus series.  My 9900K has been in an Asus Maximus X Hero, an MSI MEG Godlike and the Aorus Extreme.  Personally I like the Asus Bios, simpler for OCing but less capable overall.  The MSI board was good but had some performance issues due to not holding the BCLK stable.  Then the Gigabyte board it has been amazing.  Took some time to learn the bios but has let me OC the 9900K further than any of the others.

if you don't wanna navigate the gigabyte bios then the only other choice is the taichi, but it's about 15C warmer than the aorus master on load, the vrm gets to about 75C on 90-100% load on 185w.

The ASUS board don't have problems. They are just not enough board for the price.

I would like to check out the bios software on the XI since I have only heard good things about it. the Aorus software is only on par with the Max X.

This gen go with a Aorus board, Elite and up.

My Son got the Ultra with the i9 9900k and I am so impressed with it that I want to dump my i7 8700k with the HeroX and get them.

Nothing wrong with Asus boards - the VRM concern is really only applicable for extreme overclockers (LN2 etc).

I'm using a Maximus XI Code for mine and haven't had any issues at all running 5.2ghz on 1.325v, going to try to push things this weekend and see where stability limits are.
