HELLA OLD HDD

Hadi7200

Ok I have an old HDD from 2010, Western Digital 500gb 7200RPM, the old pc it's been in has barely been used anyways. You think I should wipe it and put it into my system? It looks like it's in good condition.

If you need another 500GB of storage space than you don't really have a choice do you.

If you don't, then what's the point.

Yeah why not.
Just delete all the partitions in disk management and make a new simple partition.

Amateur...?

I've got a production drive from 1992 still in service at my office (damn thing just.wont.die)

Run some WDDiags on the drive, and if it checks out, use it by all means!

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

You think 2010 is "hella old"? Man, you must be young. The oldest drive I have is from the early 90's (might not be as early as 92 tho) granted, it's dead, but still. Would you say my truck from 96 is old then? It's not old at all. It will be old when I can find parts for it at the car shows like Wheels of Time and Das Awkscht Fescht. Until then, I own a relatively later model truck.

(sorry, I just wanted to get that off my chest lol)
