I need help choosing the right CPU for my new gaming build and I need to know what is better for gaming and 720p video editing.

Here are the combos I picked:

4670K with an Asus Maximus VI Gene Motherboard and 8gb of DDR3-1600 RAM.

FX 8320 with an Asus Sabertooth 990FX r2.0 and 16gb of DDR3-1600 RAM.

Any help would be appreciated :)

If you are on a budget, get the 8320 and OC it.

If you can easily afford it, I'd say 4670k.

Edit: Also for 720p Editing, 8GB RAM should do the job just fine.

CPU: i7-4770k (LM modded) - MB: GA-Z87X-UD3H - RAM: HyperX, 16GB 1866MHz - GPU: Palit GTX 980Ti Super - Storage: 1TB HDD + 500GB/120GB SSD (850 Evo/840) - Monitor: Predator XB271HU - PSU: 700W BeQuiet 80+ Gold

i would spend 14$ more and get i7 4770K with Asrock z87 extreme 3 over i5 + asus any day .

or get the i5 with a cheaper mobo to save money

What...?

You can't be serious..

I said properly... Of course you can get the best cpu cooler just to have 1.55v on the core and 5 ghz but for that you also need a tank of a motherboard with rock solid voltage regulators and stuff. So my friend...at this budget, just get an intel CPU.

I'm pretty sure overclocking an FX-8350 is like a hot knife through butter. All you need is a 990 chipset and you can overclock on air cooling pretty well. I have a 970, I wish I got anything but lol.

-EDIT-

@OP - The AMD line is excellent budget, but the i5-4670k is a lot better for editing. I can speak from experience, the 8350 still does an OK job in editing, but I'm sure the i5 is all the better. Which do you need more, though? Budget or power?

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
