Best PSU brand and diff between g1, g2,g3?

I was wondering which brand of PSU gold would be good I don’t know if most of the brands are the same and build quality. Along time ago someone link me a page which shows all the EVGA PSU showing the difference between G1, G2, G3.  Anyone wanna know where I can get that link.

However I would get a SeaSonic Prime Ultra for a bit more, but it's seriously high quality

Better to judge on a product by product basis than by brand because they make a wide range as far as quality is concerned, and for that it helps to check the...

That there's likely a better option available at a similar price. What's your budget?

The G3 is known to have issues with its protections and being very loud. The G2 isn't particularly quiet either. The G1 is ancient and absolute garbage, as it's group regulated. The G1+, G1 and GD are unfit for higher end systems, as they are quite low end. And all of those lack multi rail.

Marketing is fascinating at times.

Out of EVGA PSUs, the G2 is your best option. Out of all PSUs, EVGA is most likely not your best option.

 

Seasonic Focus Plus Gold, Corsair RMx are my go-to recommendations for price-quality.

Definitely the G2. The rest are either overpriced, are generally not that great for the money or have bad OCP/OTP & loud fans

You shouldn't limit yourself to buying only EVGA though, you can definitely find better for the money.

I would recommend the Bitfenix Formula Gold and Corsair RMx series of PSUs. 550W should do just fine for most PC builds.

Why not keep using that then? It's not as good as the other ones you're looking at, but it's okay and it's free since you already have it.

Because it's not 80+ gold rated? 80+ Efficiency ratings have nothing to do with the quality of the PSU. Think of it like a car, just because it gets good gas mileage doesn't mean it has good build quality or a good ANCAP safety rating.

Correct. Except for if you are bothered by the noise, in which case a higher end PSU could be quieter.

40->45db is quite loud, but it's still not as loud as a GPU might be at full load so it's ok
