Building a new rig with adult income

Hi guys,

 

I decided to replace my ancient 2700K system because at almost 30 I finally can afford good hardware.

I will use the system mostly to play games and occasionally code. I do not care about RGB in/around the system at all, I had my fair share of light and modding back in the day and I would rather have my components be less blinky and flashy.

My location is germany and I haven't really set a budget in stone yet, so fire away.

 

My partlist currently includes:

  • CPU: i9 9900K
  • Mainboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Master
  • RAM: 2x G.Skill AEGIS F4-3000C16D-16GISB
  • NVMe: 2x Crucial P1 CT 1000P 1TB SSD
  • GPU: Asus GeForce RTX 2080Ti ROG Strix 11GB

 

What I need advice on:

  • PSU: I have no idea what would be adequat. I would like to have the option to add another 2080Ti in the future.
  • AIO Cooler: I am leaning towards the Corsair H150i Pro, but I don't know if there are less popular but better alternatives
  • Case: I am leaning towards the Lian Li PC-O11DX, since I really like the "2 chamber" system, but I am unsure since the classic front to back airflow is impossible in this case.
  • Display: Since my current two 24" BenQ senseeye photo are crazy old and don't even support display port I am in dire need to upgrade my display aswell. Important to me is that its adjustable in height, 144Hz, support 4K and its not bigger than 27"

For PSU if you want to add another gpu I would get something like EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 or even Seasonic PRIME Ultra 1000W. 

 

For AIO I personally like Thermaltake Water 3.0 but don't know that much about it so can't really help much.

PSU: Might as well go 80+ Platinum with your budget, the Corsair HX 850W will do just fine in an SLI RTX 2080 Ti setup. And it is of very high build quality, one of the best options on the market.

 

CPU Cooler: I prefer air cooled personally but if I was getting a 360mm AIO I'd also choose the Corsair H150i Pro as well, I have the H100i Pro.

 

Case: Get whatever you like best!

 

Display: As far as I am aware the only 144hz 4K IPS display is the Asus ROG SWIFT PG27UQ 27.0" and it is likely very expensive, I personally would go 1440p ultrawide and choose one of the following:

In terms of CPU Cooler I had a bad experience with the be quite! Dark Rock 4 Pro in a system I build for a friend. It blocks 2 memory slots, even with 1 fan taken off.

 

Display. I'd rather sacrifice 4k than 144hz

There are other large air coolers that will prevent this issue, I have this exact cooler with tall RAM and no slots are covered.
