Hey guys, so a few weeks ago my nzxt h440 turn on button stopped working and i had to change my wires up so that my restart button would turn on my PC. But now that also isn't working. How come this is happening? And what do i do, since i have no way of turning me PC in now I'm guessing that I'll need a new case and if so what can you guys recommend?

Specs:

Intel Core i9-9900K

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING, S-1151

HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 16GB

Corsair Hydro Series H60 CPU Cooler

MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB

Silver Power SP-S650 650W PSU

NZXT H440 Midi Tower Black

You can turn on the PC by using a flat head screwdriver and shorting the power pins.

Just make sure to short the correct ones.

Though it does look like motherboard to me, not the case

But why would the motherboard break my power buttons?

Buttons are there just for shorting the pins, something you can do with a metal object. It's unlikely that both buttons would get jammed so fast. So I suspect it's either motherboard or the power supply

@Stefan Payne Isn't that PSU based on 650W M12II? If so, couldn't it be the cause of problem?

Interesting, before both buttons broke i had to press them a few times for the PC to start. So i would have to send the motherboard in for repair or?

Abit more info on my PSU:

ATX 12V V2.3, 80 Plus Bronze, Standard, 4x 6+2pin PCIe, 14x SATA, 7x Molex,

Naa, might be even predating that.

Silver Power is pretty old and out of business for a long time. At least 5 years or more.

But I'd think about replacing it anyway...

@xguys1 And how old is it? 5 Years? 7 Years??

More Watt doesn't mean better or longer life. It just means more Watt...

You can buy JUST a set of power buttons from Amazon for testing purposes.

https://www.amazon.com/Warmstor-2-Pack-Computer-Supply-27-inch/dp/B074XDTVN1/

I would do that before trying to RMA the case, if you can verify the fault they may be able to just ship you a replacement set of buttons or a replacement front panel avoiding you needing to tear the system down to send in the WHOLE case and have a bunch of down time.
